TRANSPORTATION/GETTING AROUND
The nearest airport from/to Eilat is the J. Hozman airport also known as the Eilat Airport. The airport caters to domestic flights mostly coming from Haifa or Tel Aviv. There are very few international flights that use the airport owing to its short runaway. The airport is actually a 10 minute walk from the famous hotel strip of Eilat. The best way to travel in and around Eilat is by Taxi. There is a bus service within the city, which is used by locals and is a comfortable way to ride and easy on the pocket too.
Note: Most buses don’t run on Shabbat and Jewish holidays.
ATTRACTIONS
Situated in the desert and bordering the Red Sea, Eilat has much to offer in terms of attractions and offer a complete value for money holiday. Accommodation is not a problem and the good part is that most hotels are beach facing. All you have to do is book yourself into one to enjoy the view of the calm blue sea from the bedroom or bask in the radiance of the sunset from the balcony. Some of the beautiful attractions of this charming resort city include:
1. Dolphin Reef: This is a hot favorite with people of all age-group and especially children. This is an eco-site unique to Israel as well as the world where you will be able to enjoy the natural surroundings, the fun of being at a secluded beach, and of course observe and mingle with the dolphins in their natural habitat. The entrance fee is NIS 42 for adults and NIS 28 for children between age 5 and 15. The place is open throughout the year.
2. The underwater observatory: Another marine wonder, the observatory will open the doors to the underwater world. The entry fee is 69 NIS for an adult and 59 NIS for children between age 4 and 16.
3. Kings City: This is a theme park that is situated on the eastern side of the promenade. A walk around this place will transport you right into the ancient times when kings ruled this region. You will not only get the feel of how it used to be back then but also take home beautiful memories.

NIGHTLIFE
Eilat nightlife is vibrant and smooth as the activity gets heightened in the after hours at hotel clubs, beach parties and local bars. The clubbing scene here is quite good but is at its height only in the summers. Some of the best places to be in include the Elixir, Spiral, and Free Dome.

People in Eilat love the outdoors and it seems to be an integral part of their culture thanks to being close to the beach.
EVENTS AND FESTIVALS
There are over 100 cultural events that take place in Eilat throughout the year including theatrical, music & dance, film, and other art festivals. The most famous is the Eilat Jazz Festival that normally takes place in the last week in August.
SPORT AND SPORT ACTIVITIES
Being close to the sea, most of the sport activities are water based. Diving, of course, is the most common water sports enjoyed by everyone from locals to tourists. The other popular sport activities include snorkeling, riding on sea scooters, and the Red Canyon and Eilat Mountain jeep safari.
