Transportation
The transportation on the Dead Sea includes various cruise boats and excursion ships. Jerusalem is 39km from the Northern Dead Sea and Tel Aviv is 98km. To reach the Dead Sea, you can take the road from Jerusalem (Highway 1 & 90), Eilat and Tel Aviv. You can also take a bus from Jerusalem to the Oasis of Ein Gedi and Ein Bokek, which have public and private beaches on the Dead Sea.

Attraction
Being a water body, there is no dearth of water sports in Dead Sea. Besides the fact that the water quality of Dead Sea is unique, there are plenty of hot springs all along the shoreline. It’s a haven for spa lovers because there are some dedicated spas like the Ein Gedi Resort, which is quite a popular place. Apart from that there is The Movenpick resorts as well as the Dead Sea Marriott that offer spa treatment and other activities.

Some of the other activities that you can be involved in includes:
• Hiking: You can hike through the Judean Desert, which is considered to be the cradle of many civilizations.
• Guided tours: Enjoy the pristine beauty of the Dead Sea surrounding areas and revel in bird watching, visit Nachal David and Nachal Arugot and a swim in the natural waterfalls.
• Rappelling: There are several options for rappelling in the Ein Gedi Country.

Shopping
A trip to the Dead Sea is not going to be complete without visiting one of the several small outlets that sell the Dead Sea products. The dead Sea products include Dead Sea salts, which includes bath crystals that have 26 essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, potassium, and others. Another popular Dead Sea product is the black mineral mud that will cleanse your skin and allow it to absorb moisture. Apart from this there are several shops selling Israeli and Jordanian handicrafts and rugs.

Nightlife
There is not much of nightlife near Dead Sea but you can enjoy a quiet evening at the beaches or a dancing night at the hotel bars and pubs.

Being a Sea resort town, Dead Sea has a deep rooted history but no culturally strong background.

There are no particular events or festivals near Dead Sea. The Jordanian side of Dead Sea celebrates Jordanian festivals while the Israeli side celebrates Israeli festivals.
