Cielo restaurant in Jerusalem has been owned and run for the past 14 years by Chef Adi Cohen. The menu at Cielo is Italian and includes ,among others, meat, fish seafood and pasta in its menu.
Adi has an Italian background and the restaurants name is taken from the Italian language: Cielo = sky, and the sky along with this wonderful musical instrument design the restaurants motto and character: horizon and open spaces along with structure and rules all working together.
In Adis' opinion the cello is the orchestra's background music. It does not stand out but is missed when not played.
Cielo was established in 1992, and has been around since then with out making a big fuss.
The menu at Cielo is rich, precise and varied as each day ten special dishes are prepared only for that same day. The restaurant is designed in a clean and meticulous manner. The background music is appropriate to the name and character of the restaurant; it is classical and pleasant and gives the loyal customers a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

It’s a typical patio which was built in 1985 by Shlomo Faingold, and in its history it holds many stories. The atmosphere in the patio is unique and it radiates to the restaurants around it. The decorators of Dagim Bahatzer had gracefully used the special characters of the patio and the building to add an original and unique design experience to the culinary one.

It includes salads and starters like blue cheese salad with lettuce, cucumbers, avocado, colored peppers sherry tomatoes with a mustard vinaigrette dressing; carpaccio of salt water fish with olive oil, lemon and the juice of a squeezed tomato; unique pasta course such as Jerusalem artichoke and smoked salmon papardella; and for the main courses a wide range of fish – fillet of intias on a hot plate, sea bass in a stone oven and more.

Just like the lively quarter in Buenos Aires for which it is named, La Boca Latin Restaurant is tucked away out of sight. Both would be easy to miss. And missing either would be a shame.
La Boca is the only South American restaurant in Jerusalem. Not Mexican – although offerings include chicken enchiladas and tortilla with red tuna ceviche. Not Argentinian – although La Boca grills a mean steak. Imagine a far more sophisticated mixture of flavors spanning the southern continent, some specially imported, all kosher l’mehadrin, adapt them to the Israeli palate - and that will be La Boca.
28-year-old chef and owner Guy Kimhi returned from his trip to South America newly armed with a suitcase full of recipes, a head full of ideas and a determination to do something special. After gaining experience at two top Israeli restaurants, he opened La Boca two years ago.
La Boca is located on the second floor of a restored Templar building, so keep a sharp eye out for the hostess, who waits at street level to escort diners up the narrow stone stairway into the warm and welcoming dining room. With its classic furnishings, upholstered chairs and subtle but sufficient lighting, the ambience is calmly elegant. Sitting on the glass-enclosed terrace, listening to soft Spanish music, diners float above trendy Emek Refaim - part of the action, but a world apart. Considerately, enough room has been left between the dark wood tables to make your dinner conversation your own.
La Boca highlights a wine each month – we had the Tishbi Estate Merlot – but just about everything, from beers and single malt to margaritas, is available on the extensive alcohol list. La Boca also offers a business lunch from 11:30 to 17:00 and caters events for up to 140 diners. The menu changes every few months, with the seasons. But the emphasis remains on eclectic quality, varied tastes and colors, as well as homemade ingredients – from the salsas to the sorbets.
La Boca is an international night out at reasonable Israeli prices. Perfect for hosting guests from abroad or an evening with someone as special as this restaurant.

The Little Eucalyptus restaurant offers a highly original dining experience that highlights Biblical dishes. Its specialty is the use of wild herbs and plants growing on the Judean Mountains – hyssop, Jerusalem sage, and just-picked figs, making every dish a true celebration of nature and Jerusalem.
Directed by Moshe Basson and Sofyan Ayash, the restaurant’s first incarnation was twenty years ago: since then the Little Eucalyptus has consistently offered a splendid range of unusual culinary delights.
Moshe Basson is a winner of the Italian award that’s considered the Nobel Prize of the kitchen, for reviving Biblical cooking and using wild plants. Sofyan Ayash has specialized in ancient cookery methods for close to twenty years, and presents recipes of his grandmother’s and mother’s kitchen - adding a deeply unusual and authentic tone to the menu.
Both chefs belong to the ‘Chefs for Peace’ organization - a group of Palestinian and Israeli chefs who demonstrate how, using long knives and flames, Jews and Moslems can create positive and delicious things.
To create their dishes, Basson and Ayash pick herbs and wild plants growing in the mountains around Jerusalem – sage, thyme, and sumac. Diners at the Little Eucalyptus receive detailed explanations about the ingredients. For example, a dish that looks like stuffed vine-leaves actually consists of Jerusalem sage leaves, while the spinach-like salad is in fact khubeiza (mallow) a plant widely eaten during the Siege of Jerusalem in 1948. Use is also made of the Seven Species (the seven types of fruit and grain listed in the Bible) and Biblical dishes such as Jacob the Patriarch’s lentil soup.
The restaurant’s kitchen draws together scriptural verses with contemporary food, and the bridge is local cuisines – Arab, Jewish, or Palestinian ones. Food is cooked and served in special dishes that accentuate the freshness and originality of the flavors.
Designed in an authentic indigenous style, The Little Eucalyptus serves excellent Israeli boutique wines, and home-made soft drinks like almond-milk and tamarind.
