Transportation
Herzliya is situated on the main train line from Tel Aviv to Haifa and hence you can reach here by train. Another option for reaching Herzliya is by bus from any of the main cities like Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem etc. Most of the transportation with Herzliya is by bus or taxi. Bus route 90 is one of the best options for going to the beach if you are staying in the heart of the city. You can also try out the shared taxi vans also known as sherut. On the day of Sabbath, all bus services will be closed and the only option will be the sherut. You can even rent a car.

 

Attraction
There are plenty of attractions I Herzliya apart from its stunning beaches. Some of the beaches and other attractions include:

 

Appolonia Beach: This is a stunningly beautiful beach that is known for the archeological findings in the area that belong to the ancient village of Arshuf. The archeological findings from the 6th or 5th century BC has made this beach a major attraction and it has also been declared as a national park.

 

Khof Ha'Nechim: This is one of those beaches across the world and Israel that is completely accessible for invalids.

 

Ha'Khof Ha'Nifrad: is known as the separated beach and is meant for Orthodox Jews. It is open for women only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and men can visit the beach only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

 

Herzliya Art Museum. A modern-art museum in the center of the city, near the central bus station. The Herzliya museum exhibits modern Israeli & International art, both in a permanent & temporary exhibits.

 

Sidna-'Ali Mosque: This is a beautifully engraved mosque that offers a splendid view of the neighboring areas because of its location – right on the edge of a cliff.

 

The Herzliya History Museum: This is also known as the Founders' House and has an exhibit that has images of the first settlers in the city of Herzliya. Everything in this museum depicts the everyday life when the city was first inhabited and also throws light on its history.

 

Children places
Children can have a fun and frolicking time at the beaches in Herzliya. There are different types of sports and games available for children apart from mini swimming pools, building sand castles and running around the beach. One of the must see places for children is the Archive Department of the United Studios. It is a visual treasure and contains some of the precious and classic recorded moments from the early days of Israel as a nation. Children can get to see rare and exclusive footages of some of the biggest historical moments in Israel.

 

Shopping
The Shivat Hakohavim Mall is a 7 Stars Mall that is not only a great place for shopping but is also a meeting place for modern and ancient Israel. Nightlife in Herzliya comprises of bars restaurants, cinemas, and coffee shops. There are some excellent international and local cuisine restaurants near the industrial centre as well as at the Marina Mall. The beachfront is decked with open-air bars. The top bars of Herzliya are situated in the industrial area between the Shenkar street and the Maskit street.

 

Culture
The culture in Herzliya has a semi-Arabic feel to it although it is as modern as one can get. There are some points in the city where you will find the ancient traditions merging with the modern society.

Herzliya basically has 2 major football clubs: the Hapoel and Maccabi and both clubs use the Municipal Stadium for playing games. Apart from this, Herzliya is home to the Bnei HaSharon basketball club. Being a beach resort town, there are plenty of options for water sports.
